We visited Fort canning part on Sunday. The main entrance of the park is behind Park Mall. You can either take bus or MRT. It is the most historic part of Singapore. It is once occupied by ancient Malay rulers and is once known as "Forbidden hill".
The Fort canning Park was built by the British in 1920s. It was a headquarters for the Far East command and the officers of Lt. General Percival. It has been fully renovated. The gate of the park is a remnant of the old fortress.
We went inside a sally port. It is used as an escape route and also to ambush the enemy.
We then went to the Battle Box. It is underground and was used in war and the nerve center for British operations. It hs 26 rooms and is 9 meters underground.
